At Harvills, we believe that the best way to learn is to learn collaboratively. We encourage the children to discuss their learning at every opportunity. The teachers plan very carefully so that the children can get the most from the experiences provided.
Work is matched to the abilities of the children. Children are encouraged to explain their learning and are also give the time to say how well they think they have done and where they think they could improve.
Our children are accustomed to working with partners and in teams across all areas of the curriculum. By learning in this way all children benefit. Children learn from each other. They recognise that every child has a strength and, by learning in this way, see those strengths acknowledged.
Harvills' children learn in all areas of our school. The school halls, the playing fields and even the school forest are used to promote children's learning. We are also developing our very own radio station so that we can broadcast our children's learning at the evenings and at weekends!
